Platypus House offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to watch both live Tasmanian platypuses and echidnas in daylight conditions and undercover! Many great photo opportunties available to help capture fond memories of your visit!
Tasmanian platypuses and Tasmanian echidnas are unique, and cannot be seen anywhere else in the world.
Every tour offers:
A fully guided tour of platypus ponds to watch platypuses feeding and playing
A walk through the echidna garden to see echidna foraging in a bushland setting
An Interpretation Centre explaining the biology of both platypuses and echidnas
A theaterette showing a film on platypuses
A cafe with excellent beverages and friendly staff
A selection of gifts and postcards to remember a fantastic living world experience
Group bookings are essential. Open daily 9.30 am, except Christmas Day Regular tours throughout the day, last tour in winter is at 3.30pm, and in summer 4.30pm
