BIG4 Ballarat Goldfields Holiday Park is in the Victorian State Tourism Awards Hall of Fame with a hat-trick win in the best Tourist and Caravan Park category.

The five star boutique holiday park which promotes ‘camping in comfort’ got the judges recognition as Victoria’s leading Tourist and Caravan Park.

Shane Terrill, Manager of BIG4 Ballarat Goldfields, said his committed team is the key factor.

"It’s an honour to be judged Victoria’s number one for the third year in a row. We have designed and redeveloped our property around our core markets of families with young children and touring retirees," Shane said.

Ballarat Goldfields Holiday Park’s exceptional facilities include a solar-heated pool and indoor heated swimma-spa, a ‘Playland’ playground, tennis courts, recreation and television room, camp kitchen and in-house movies.

"With more people choosing driving holidays, the role of the Holiday Park is much more than just a powered campsite", Terry Goodall, BIG4 Holiday Parks’ Chief Executive Officer, said

In July GoSee Australia reported another hat-trick by the family of Victorian caravan park operators when they scored a 5 Star rating treble.

The A Welcome Stranger Holiday Park, Ballarat, was the third park operated by the Watts family to achieve AAA Tourism 5 Star rating status

The other 5 Star family operations are Hall of Fame winner Ballarat Goldfields Holiday Park and Melbourne BIG4 Holiday Park at Coburg.

All three parks are members of the BIG4 Holiday Park Chain. Des and Margaret Watts, who head the Watts family, are BIG4 'originals'.

Des says the Watt’s run of parks have included Maldon Caravan Park, Desert City, Mildura, Kerang, Port Augusta, Melbourne BIG4 Holiday Park at Coburg, they built Ashley Gardens and bought Goldfields in 1996. Two years ago they bought back Welcome Stranger.

The Ballarat Goldfields Holiday Park team says they retain their 5 star rating through hard work and attention to detail.
